Hi Everyone - Things have been super busy here at Suburban Sprawl over the past month or so. This is the first "group composed" email, meaning that each act wrote their own little bit of news. Straight from the mouths of horses - Beautiful, talented horses. We have lots of news to share, so let's just get right down to it. We hope you are well. --------------------------------------------------- Podcasting! suburbansprawlmusic.com now features a podcast, which you put all up in your itunes and let apple do all the work. Almost an entire year in the making, it features thirteen tracks that range from dreamy pop to country, complete with all sorts of saucy harmonies and yes, guitar solos, of which there are at least three. Plus, you can also count on bonus material featuring live video and possibly an unreleased song or two. --------------------------------------------------- The Pop Project - 'TGIF' The Pop Project's "TGIF" ep is currently available for purchase on suburbansprawlmusic.com! The disc is a loving and ridiculous tribute to television music guru Jesse Frederick. A short "making-of" film is also on the cd, featuring a glimpse into The Pop Project's arguably weird obsession with details. It's really not dumb, it's cool! Yeah! We swear you won't feel alienated. --------------------------------------------------- Javelins On Tour! Grab your Mickey Mouse ears and throw on your most embarassing christmas sweater, 'cause Javelins are heading to Florida this winter! Starting Dec. 1st Javelins will be on tour with Mt. Pleasant's Anathallo until Dec. 17th in promotion of their new split release, Entropy. The tour is going as far south as Tampa, and then coming back. If you know anything about the Javelins at all, then it's no surprise to you that we can't give you any specifics on the entire tour at this time, but check their offical webpage and myspace for all the information in the next few weeks. It features an exclusive song by each band. The first pressing will feature totally sweet artwork and packaging, and is pressed on green vinyl! Limited to 300. Every other pressing will feature a seperate set of artwork/colors. Once these are gone, they are gone, so make sure to pick one up! If you can't make it to the shows, we'll have a LIMITED amount available for online order in the SSM store. Look for it late November/early December! --------------------------------------------------- The Pop Project - LP3 Progress The Pop Project's still untitled third album is almost complete. The group recently travelled north to Minneapolis, Minnesota to record basic tracks with producer Andy Thompson (who also produced Life is Life). Expect 13 songs of cold hot, black blonde, fast slow, and loud quiet. Yep. You should also expect some totally bangin' cameos and wicked rapping too. Rappin! (Please note that there will actually be no rapping on this album.) --------------------------------------------------- El Boxeo - 'Awake and Dreaming' Progress El Boxeo's first official full-length, "Awake and Dreaming," is almost finished. Yes, they have been saying that for a while now, but you know, sometimes this shit takes a while (especially when recording gear breaks and band members take month-long road trips). The album should see the light of day mid-January. It features a handful of tasty guests (some of your favorite SSMers along with other awesome people). You'll love the first half of this album if you enjoy seeing the band live, and you'll love the second half of the album if you enjoy weird dreams that linger in your mind all day long. If you enjoy seeing the band live and weird dreams, then you'll probably love the shit out of this. --------------------------------------------------- Crazy Basement-cleaning Sale We have lots and lots of copies of the initial (circa 2000) SSM releases. We'd like to clear some space in the basement for the new releases we're working on, so we've put together an IRRESISTIBLE deal. For just five American dollars, we'll send you a copy of SSM001 through SSM003 - Red Shirt Brigade's first EP, This is Adelaide's EP, and the Nymb full-length! Sound good?
